50th CLASS REUNION October 4-6, 2008

Dear Alumni:

The Class of 1958 is pleased to announce that our long-anticipated 50th reunion will take place October 4th thru 6th. We’ve made arrangements with a promoter, LAR Enterprises, to have a doo-wop show to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It will be held at the Bethpage High School on Cherry Avenue on Saturday, October 4th….it should be a blast! Tickets will cost $35.00 per person, and we will have a section of seats reserved for us.

We have also reserved a block of fifteen (15) rooms at the Holiday Inn located at 215 Sunnyside Blvd in Plainview which is where our dinner dance will be held on Sunday, October 5th. Our special group rate for a room is $129 per day (does not include tax). When you call the Holiday Inn, 516-349-7400, use the group code B58 (wasn’t that clever of us). On Saturday, after the doo-wop show, we plan to gather in Monroe’s Lounge at the Holiday Inn where we can enjoy the music and reconnect and share memories with old friends.

Our dinner dance will begin at 7:00pm with a half hour of cocktails (cash bar), hand-passed hors d’oeuvres, crudités, and cheese display. After that, we will enjoy a sit-down dinner with open seating. Once again, the great music of the ‘50’s and beyond will be provided by DJ Kenny Whiteside who sings with the Cleftones and has DJ’d for us before. The cost for this wonderful evening is $70 per person. If past reunions are any indication, we’ll be rockin’ and rollin’ right to the end….11:30pm. There will be a memorabilia table set up for your fifties and Bethpage High School mementos, clippings, and scrapbooks. Feel free to bring anything you might still have from the “good old days”.

On Monday, October 6th, we will have a buffet breakfast ($13 per person) and say so-long until next time.

Alumni who are planning to join us are requested to fill out and return the attached registration form with a check made payable to Betty Bohlander for the dinner and the breakfast, and a separate check for the doo-wop show made payable to LAR Enterprises. Mail the checks and the registration form to Betty by July 1, 2008.

For those of you who don’t know, we have a class website, www.bethpage58.org, designed and maintained by Elaine Boltson Chen. Check it out to see who is on it and to stay up-to-date on the latest info on the reunion and who will be attending.

If you are in touch with any of our classmates, please let them know about the reunion. We do not have current addresses for many and your friend may just be one of them.
